Naturopathic Medicine
As a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine at Orchard Natural Medicine, Dr. Perrin acts as a primary care physician. You can see her as you would an MD but our doctor doesn’t prescribe medications or refer you out for surgery. Instead, diet, herbals, and nutrients are given to address particular health conditions.
Naturopathic medicine is a drug-free surgery-free way of achieving optimal health and promoting wellness, helping people overcome chronic health conditions. Some examples include:
- Acute Illnesses like colds and flu
- Adrenal Fatigue
- Allergies
- Auto-Immune Issues
- Childhood Illness
- Chronic Pain
- Detoxification
- Environmental Toxicities
- Gastrointestinal Complaints
- Hormone Imbalance
- Mental Emotional Disorders
- Skin Complaints
- Thyroid Problems
- Women’s Health
Naturopathy can be preventative care for more serious health conditions. It can also help people overcome chronic health conditions without medications, promoting optimal health and wellness.
While conventional medicine takes a bandage approach by masking symptoms we want to know the actual underlying cause. So for example, if you have diabetes we want to know why you have it.
To get to the root we take an extensive history and we also take a preventative approach. By taking care of somebody early enough we can teach them proper ways of eating and living so that they don’t end up with diabetes, cancer, or other health conditions.
Preparing for your appointment
Please plan to arrive five minutes early and wear comfortable clothing. Bring any labs, blood work, imaging reports, or any additional paperwork. You also can bring any supplements you’re taking.
Consultation, exam and treatment plan
When you come in for your new appointment, after you’ve done everything online, you’ll have a consultation with Dr. Perrin to discuss whatever your primary health concerns are. Then, she will review your health history, family health history, and then perform a physical exam.
Based on her findings after the first visit to the clinic, Dr. Perrin will develop and recommend treatment plan that will include a combination of therapies such as dietary guidance, supplements, lifestyle recommendations, chiropractic care, and acupuncture.
Please allow an hour to an hour and 15 minutes for this appointment.
